Polishing is required when you have any etching or scratching or light surface damage on the surface of your polished stone, or when you want to change the surface to make it shiny and smooth. Polishing includes taking a thin layer off the top of your natural stone with specialised polishing machines. We are then able to buff the surface up to a high gloss, mirror shine finish. Polishing requires a specialist stone mason to complete, and can only be performed on natural stone surfaces as well as on terrazzo and concrete floors. Be aware that a polished surface can become slippery when wet, therefore it is advised to leave surfaces where moisture is present regularly with a honed finish instead.
How it Works Diamond abrasive pads in variant grades are used to polish down a thin layer from the stone. This process is repeated until a high gloss finish is produced and buffed up for extra that extra shine. Once the polishing process has been completed, a premium penetrating sealer will be applied, helping protect the restored surface for years to come.
